About the Role

As part of the Energy & Power division, our team in Melbourne (or Sydney) is assisting clients in transitioning toward sustainable energy solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to a varied set of projects including transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy developments, industrial facilities, transport infrastructure, and emerging energy technologies. Collaborating with specialists and multidisciplinary groups, you will help deliver practical, forward-thinking solutions that promote reliable and sustainable energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering design and consulting services for medium and high voltage power infrastructure projects.
- Assist in developing design packages for transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy connections, and related infrastructure.
- Engage in projects involving substations, earthing and bonding, electrical protection systems, traction power, and electric vehicle infrastructure.
- Work collaboratively with project teams locally and across Jacobs' global delivery centers to achieve superior engineering results.
- Participate actively in client and project meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops.
- Conduct power system and protection studies as well as technical analyses and design tasks.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a cooperative team environment.
- Cooperate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and sustainable client solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Proven electrical engineering experience focusing on power infrastructure, utilities, energy, transport, industrial, or similar sectors.
- Hands-on knowledge with medium and/or high voltage systems including transmission, distribution, or renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with primary and/or secondary electrical systems, protection systems, substations, or power system studies.
- Understanding of Australian standards and engineering best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
- A collaborative approach and eagerness to learn from seasoned engineers and technical leaders.
- A passion for supporting the transition to sustainable infrastructure in Australia.
