Role Overview
As Senior Director of the Technology Intelligence Unit (TIU), you will lead Singtel Corporate Centre's early warning system on emerging technologies. This pivotal role converts technology scouting into strategic insights, informing senior leadership and the Technology Advisory Council (TAC) for timely, impactful decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the TIU to deliver comprehensive technology trend analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Serve as the Secretariat head for the Technology Advisory Council, handling agenda preparation, content development, and coordinating stakeholder communications.
- Implement structured technology scanning and evaluation processes, incorporating AI-driven workflows to assess prioritized domains.
- Analyze emerging technologies to determine their strategic significance, maturity, commercial potential, and implications for Singtel.
- Produce insightful reports, briefs, and executive recommendations for the Group Management Committee, senior leadership, and TAC.
- Apply evaluation frameworks to gauge technology relevance, timing, and potential value creation.
- Collaborate with Business Units, Operating Companies, Innov8, and other functional teams to validate findings and explore applicability.
- Coordinate TAC meetings, prepare relevant materials, organize deep-dive sessions, and manage follow-up actions.
- Oversee management of selected external partners and integration of research deliverables.
Required Expertise and Qualifications
- Extensive experience (10 to 15+ years) in strategic, technological, or innovation roles, preferably within telecommunications, technology sectors, or consulting firms.
- Deep knowledge of emerging technologies and understanding of their commercial impacts.
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with C-suite executives and board members.
- Strong analytical skillset to distill complex technological topics into clear, actionable insights.
- Exceptional leadership qualities with excellent stakeholder relationship management skills.
