Role Overview

Our organization is undergoing a transformative AI expansion that's reshaping how we work and meeting evolving client demands. We invite passionate Senior Developers and Tech Leads who are eager to innovate in AI software development to join our Digital Engineering team. This role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to design and deploy advanced AI models addressing sophisticated business needs. We seek multiple skilled professionals ready to help put this New Zealand company prominently on the global stage.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Leverage over 7 years of professional software development experience, preferably in Python and Typescript, including hands-on AI/ML production work.
• Deliver at least one generative AI solution in production such as chatbots, summarizers, or code assistants.
• Work extensively with transformers and orchestration frameworks like LangChain (v0.2+), LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
• Deploy or fine-tune AI models on cloud platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or SageMaker.
• Utilize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns, vector databases, and apply evaluation metrics like BLEU, ROUGE-L, and GPTScore.
• Apply cloud-native engineering tools including Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing.

Preferred Additional Expertise

• Experience with agent frameworks such as AutoGen (v0.2/0.4) and CrewAI, including tool-using agents.
• Working knowledge of multimodal model workflows combining image-text or real-time API usage like GPT-4o.
• Familiarity with embedding models and workspace automation through agentic frameworks.
• Understanding of advanced RAG variants (LongRAG, Self-RAG, GraphRAG) and comparative knowledge of vector stores like Pinecone, Qdrant, FAISS, and Azure AI Search.
• Experience delivering multimodal and streaming large language models enabling real-time GPT-4o or Gemini 2 Ultra applications with cross-modal embeddings.
