Role Overview

This full-time, onsite role in Mysore seeks an experienced Senior Design Engineer to spearhead the design and development of transformers, chokes, and related magnetic products. Responsibilities encompass ensuring all designs fulfill performance metrics, safety standards, and regulatory criteria. Daily tasks include interpreting client technical requirements, executing design calculations, constructing and revising CAD models and engineering drawings, and partnering with manufacturing units to aid prototyping and production.

The position further involves reassessing and enhancing existing designs, diagnosing root causes for product issues, and collaborating with quality assurance and testing teams to confirm design validity. The Senior Design Engineer will mentor junior team members, contribute to the creation and upkeep of design standards and documentation, and actively engage in ongoing improvements within design and engineering workflows.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Solid background in design engineering and product development with a proven record in creating components or systems for industrial or electronic applications.
Mechanical engineering expertise, including knowledge of materials, mechanical tolerances, thermal dynamics, and manufacturing techniques pertinent to transformers and chokes.
Electrical engineering knowledge related to magnetic circuits, fundamentals of power electronics, and specialized design for sensing and power devices.
Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to produce 2D drawings and 3D models, capable of delivering comprehensive production documentation.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an allied field.
Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally involving magnetic or electromechanical product lines.
Capability to analyze technical specifications, perform detailed engineering calculations, and apply industry standards appropriate to the domain.
Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple design projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate efficiently with cross-disciplinary groups and fulfill customer-specific requirements.
Prior familiarity with ISO quality management systems and ongoing improvement methodologies considered beneficial.
