Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC Design to join our mechanical engineering division. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing HVAC design drawings, calculations, and specifications for construction projects based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Create HVAC design drawings, carry out load calculations, and select appropriate equipment for construction projects.
- Formulate mechanical specifications, schedules, and bills of quantities (BOQs) for HVAC systems.
- Examine shop drawings and technical submissions from contractors and suppliers for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant regulations and approval standards set by Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, and Civil Defence.
- Provide mechanical design support for other systems such as plumbing, drainage, and firefighting as needed.
- Assist with the selection and sizing of pumps, tanks, and other mechanical devices.
- Keep abreast of current codes and standards pertaining to mechanical and HVAC systems within the Dubai context.
- Coordinate and collaborate with architects, structural, electrical, and other MEP teams during project design phases.
- Support the process for obtaining necessary authority approvals and address comments received during reviews.
- Offer technical assistance and guidance to site personnel through installation and commissioning stages.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute technical insights as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent domain.
- At least 5 years of professional experience specifically in HVAC design, preferably within consultancy or contracting environments.
- Proficient in HVAC design software tools including HAP, Revit MEP, or AutoCAD.
- Well-versed with ASHRAE standards and local Dubai authority regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within teams.
