Senior Data Scientist (Contract)

Overview

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) invites applications for a Senior Data Scientist position within its Data Analytics & Engineering Division (DAE), part of the Data Technology and Architecture Department in the Technology Group. DAE focuses on supporting internal MAS units by leveraging data insights to drive business value through strategic approaches, in-house development, standardized processes, tooling enhancement, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sophisticated data science initiatives, applying advanced analytical techniques to gain insights, refine problem definitions, and deliver impactful business solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning products, including models based on Generative and Agentic AI, tailored to specific business needs.
• Create web-based applications integrating machine learning and generative AI models, ensuring their evolution from concept stage to full production deployment.
• Contribute to architecture and implementation of cloud-based applications in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Perform comprehensive business analysis to identify optimal solutions for complex challenges, working within Agile frameworks for effective project execution.
• Oversee all stages of the product lifecycle, including roadmap planning and market introduction, coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure success.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical methodologies.
• Proficient in Python programming with experience in front-end frameworks.
• Deep understanding of complex machine learning algorithms, notably those involving Generative and Agentic AI frameworks, and knowledge of their application in production.
• Advanced skills in data manipulation, analytics, and statistical methods.
• Up-to-date with current AI and machine learning technologies, tools, frameworks, and open-source platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile project management and cloud computing services.
• Proven track record in business problem-solving and developing actionable recommendations.
• Experience managing products, including go-to-market tactics and end-to-end lifecycle oversight.
• Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Dedicated to continual learning and staying abreast of emerging data science and AI advancements.

Additional Information
