Job Overview
The Data Scientist role centers on leading universe studies, constructing retail panel extrapolations, crafting raw data models for non-cooperative retailers, and addressing client complaints that involve these domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage universe studies as the primary project coordinator, ensuring methodology transparency and validating universe estimates.
- Design and simulate extrapolation frameworks for new retail panels, including redesigning extrapolation matrices when channel samples change significantly, supported by impact analyses.
- Assist StatOps with minor adjustments like donor shop selection or updating extrapolations for empty cells and advise on quality risks associated with weaker samples.
- Evaluate existing extrapolation matrix designs for compliance and suggest improvements regarding design or sample size recommendations for recruitment.
- Define and verify sample checks per country and channel, ensuring operational adherence.
- Collaborate with Operations to review extrapolation quality and initiate redesigns if necessary, including updating Target Sample Files annually or after major sample or universe changes.
- Assess feasibility, design, test, and monitor raw data modeling solutions for non-cooperative retailers in collaboration with Product teams, transitioning long-term maintenance to Operations.
- Support commercial and client operations teams by explaining raw data modeling methodologies clearly.
- Implement new country-channel configurations, update channel definitions, design universes and samples, and create setup instructions.
- Address Level 2 methodology clarifications and support major data redesigns as part of action plan development and client communication.
- Participate in regional and global data science projects to drive innovation and improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Expertise in statistical modeling and data analytics.
- Ability to document complex methods with clarity and conduct root cause analyses (including techniques such as the 5 Whys).
- Excellent communication and organizational proficiency.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale production procedures.
- Extensive experience operating in international environments.
- Strong orientation towards quality and solution-focused approaches.
- Fluent command of English language.
