About the Role

The Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) Data Analytics & Engineering Division (DAE), situated within the Technology Group, focuses on delivering business value by leveraging data-driven insights. This team emphasizes strategic initiatives, in-house product development, standardization, tooling support, fostering a product-oriented mindset, knowledge sharing, and collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle daily operational management of production systems including incident handling, log analysis, and system component oversight.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and service performance issues, identifying deeper systemic problems and driving cross-departmental enhancements.
  • Continuously optimize systems through monitoring to detect bottlenecks and recommend structural or procedural refinements to avert future challenges.
  • Manage technical troubleshooting, escalating complex issues appropriately while proposing preventive and long-term resolutions.
  • Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by integrating lessons learned and industry best practices to boost operational efficiency.
  • Ensure SLA and SLO compliance through constant monitoring and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and collaborate across development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve them.
  • Lead post-incident evaluations and translate results into actionable improvements across tech and process landscapes.
  • Oversee full product lifecycle management from concept to launch and beyond, ensuring product maintains business value and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive product development under Agile frameworks, organizing ceremonies and evaluating project metrics to secure timely and quality delivery.
  • Manage risks, resources, and adhere to quality and security benchmarks throughout projects.
  • Balance new feature creation with system stability, making prudent trade-offs.
  • Ensure ICT governance audits and practices comply with standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of direct experience in Day 2 operations managing data science platforms, analytics infrastructures, or comparable tech systems in production.
  • Proven skills in RCA with capability to deliver immediate fixes and strategic cross-functional improvements.
  • Experience crafting and evolving SOPs beyond routine maintenance based on real operational insights.
  • Advanced technical troubleshooting skills including deep dives into logs, metrics, and system behavior analysis.
  • Expertise in managing SLA/SLO and incident response, converting operational data into enhancement actions.
  • Demonstrated strategic mindset balancing tactical execution with architectural and process improvements.
  • Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and automation tools/frameworks.
  • Strong background in product management, familiar with all product lifecycle stages, especially post-launch operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies, project management, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities to transform complex business requirements into actionable product and operational outputs.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICT governance frameworks tailored to financial services.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of influencing diverse organizational levels.
  • Proven collaboration experience across development, infrastructure, security, and business units to achieve integrated improvements.
  • Experience building and updating technical documentation such as runbooks and knowledge bases aligned with system changes.
  • Team player attitude with ability to mentor junior operational staff and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Expert or Master certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master/Product Owner credentials.

Additional Information
