Job Overview

Join a global team at NielsenIQ focused on innovating Retail Establishment Survey (RES) methodologies and enhancing data collection processes. This role centers on advancing RES design quality and redefining Universe Estimation using cutting-edge technologies, Machine Learning, and statistical analysis.

Key Duties

• Lead efforts to evaluate and improve methodologies for RES design and Universe Estimation incorporating Machine Learning and statistical methods.
• Conduct research on new approaches and quantify their impact on data quality.
• Implement methodological improvements to enhance overall quality and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with technology teams, data science colleagues, and internal stakeholders during the development and deployment of new methodologies.
• Create prototypes and support pilot projects to foster innovation.
• Maintain and document global data science methodologies ensuring clear understanding across the team.
• Encourage team engagement by promoting inquiry and deeper data understanding.
• Monitor project progress and offer constructive feedback and suggestions for refinement.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field involving extensive statistical data analysis.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of the FMCG industry and expertise with Retail Measurement Systems (RMS) products.
• Experience with study and sampling design.
• Ability to design solutions and guide teams through execution.
• Innovative thinker with proficient data analysis and statistical technique application; encourages experimentation.
• Capability to mentor others on advanced technical methodologies, promoting clarity and focus for successful delivery.
• Domain expertise in programming, statistical/machine learning/deep learning techniques, time series analysis, and sampling.
• Proficiency in Python programming and handling large databases with complex queries.
• Preferable experience with geospatial data and related methods.
• Comfortable working virtually and familiar with version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket.
• Motivated to continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies and tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal collaboration skills.
