Role Overview

The Senior Data Scientist position at Dataiku in Singapore transcends traditional data science roles. Beyond model development, the role involves deeply engaging with clients to co-create AI solutions, guiding projects from initial design through to measurable business impact. Working across various industries and projects, the role demands both technical leadership and advisory capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and collaboratively develop production-level AI projects tailored to diverse industries and use cases.
• Empower users to master the Dataiku platform through training sessions, workshops, office hours, and ongoing consultative assistance.
• Work closely with client teams—including data, business, and engineering—to architect end-to-end AI solutions, from data integration and pipeline creation to deployment.
• Make critical architectural decisions balancing native platform features, custom coding, batch versus real-time processing, while considering client needs and timelines.
• Provide strategic advice to customers and account teams to maximize platform adoption, value delivery, and long-term success.
• Contribute to solution design and proposal development, including technical scoping and delivery effort estimation.
• Drive efficient client engagements by coordinating agile sprints, prioritizing activities, and managing delivery estimates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Approximately 8 years of experience in advanced analytics and AI, preferably in consulting or customer-facing AI solution roles.
• Minimum 5 years practical experience in Python and SQL.
• At least 5 years designing, building, and deploying AI and machine learning models in production environments.
• Proven ability to take direct ownership of technical outcomes in client settings, such as consulting or embedded delivery models.
• Strong enthusiasm for learning new technologies, methodologies, and tools.
• Excellent collaboration and empathy, with a passion for sharing expertise with colleagues, clients, and the wider community.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of clearly explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Proficiencies

• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and machine learning for building innovative, real-world applications.
• Proficient in data visualization tools and frameworks such as Dash, Streamlit, RShiny, or JavaScript.
• Experience working with or creating APIs.
• Knowledge of data engineering best practices and MLOps workflows.
• Familiarity with enterprise data science platforms and tools.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure architectures as well as systems like Hadoop and Kubernetes.
• A demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentoring, or public speaking.
