As a Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage advanced analytics and modeling methodologies to convert intricate business challenges into actionable, data-driven strategies. About The Team

The Catalog Data Science group dedicates its efforts to improving product data quality to enhance search relevance and overall customer experience. By crafting and implementing cutting-edge AI models—including natural language processing and generative AI—they tackle challenges such as product categorization, attribute enrichment, and maintaining content uniformity. Their contributions support global catalog integrity by ensuring accurate product descriptions, assisting vendors with product setup and upkeep. This team utilizes advanced machine learning, deep learning, and ML operations expertise to build scalable AI solutions that tangibly improve catalog functionality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate multi-faceted business problems into actionable, data-driven approaches using sophisticated analytical techniques.
• Source and validate relevant datasets, ensuring their quality and appropriateness for modeling tasks.
• Create, test, and validate custom analytical models employing machine learning, deep learning, and statistical approaches.
• Work collaboratively with various teams to integrate data insights with business strategies and facilitate informed decisions.
• Implement scalable models into production systems, maintaining performance and sustainability through ongoing monitoring.
• Develop clear, compelling data visualizations to effectively communicate insights and influence key stakeholders.
• Encourage continuous advancement by adopting emerging artificial intelligence tools, MLOps practices, and best methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with over 7 years of pertinent experience, or Master’s with over 5 years, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics with over 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven expertise in machine learning (supervised and unsupervised), including NLP, classification, data/text mining, multimodal models, neural networks, and deep learning algorithms.
• Experience with generating embeddings from training data, managing vector databases, configuring managed large language model (LLM) gateways, developing retrieval-augmented generation-based LLM agents, model selection, prompt engineering, fine-tuning based on accuracy and feedback, plus monitoring and governance.
• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, Google Cloud Platform, and deploying models into production environments.
• Demonstrated capability working with big data platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, analytics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in analytics.
• Or Master’s degree in these fields with at least 1 year of analytics experience.
• Or 5 years of experience in analytics or related areas.
