Role Overview & Responsibilities
This senior Data Engineering role demands strong expertise in SQL, PySpark, and Python with the ability to design, build, and optimize scalable batch and distributed data pipelines. Candidates will work on enhancing complex SQL queries over distributed platforms and developing high-performance Spark transformations using DataFrames and Spark SQL.
Key tasks include crafting reusable Python data frameworks, automating processes, building production-grade components, and working with lakehouse architectures such as Delta and Iceberg, alongside cloud storage solutions like S3 and ADLS. A solid understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies, dimensional/star schema data modeling, data quality frameworks, and orchestration tools like Airflow is essential.
Beyond technical skills, the position evaluates problem-solving aptitude, debugging strategies, and a proactive performance optimization mindset through practical scenarios. Strong ownership qualities, stakeholder management capabilities, and a pragmatic, iterative approach to ambiguous challenges are valued.
Assessment Approach
