Role Overview
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will play a critical role within our Cyber Defence Operations Centre (CDOC), managing vital platforms and enhancing security measures. This position involves working with diverse security environments to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client assets, while elevating overall security standards and setting a leadership example.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software to ensure secure and stable environments
- Manage user accounts and access privileges effectively
- Oversee backup procedures and recovery operations
- Apply operational and technical security controls adhering to organisational policies
- Monitor and analyze various threat intelligence sources to detect new threats and vulnerabilities
- Research extensively on threat actors, including their tactics, techniques, and motives
- Lead incident response activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams to limit breach impact
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years in a technical cybersecurity role, preferably within Cyber Operations
- Ability to independently manage workload with a proactive mindset
- Deep knowledge of attacker methods and cybersecurity tools, techniques, and procedures
- Strong customer service focus ensuring consistent delivery quality
- Extensive understanding of networks, firewalls, proxies, and OS command-line utilities
- Familiarity with system/server diagnostic and fault identification tools
- Solid grasp of systems engineering concepts and methodologies
- Understanding of user security policies including account setups and access control management
- Experience with threat intelligence frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and standards such as STIX/TAXII
- Hands-on experience with enterprise security solutions such as SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, identity security, and secure access technologies from vendors including Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, and Splunk
- Work experience on intelligence platforms is a plus
