Senior CSA Contract Manager

Overview

The Contract Manager for Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) works will have a critical responsibility in delivering cost-effective execution of high-profile pharmaceutical construction projects in Roscommon. This full-time, on-site position entails joining the client's project management team and focusing on managing costs, overseeing contracts, and administrating commercial aspects covering CSA scopes.

The role requires collaboration with engineers, construction managers, procurement specialists, and project controls to ensure sound financial and contractual control throughout the project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and track budgets specifically for CSA works, ensuring precise cost forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor project expenditures against budget allocations, identifying discrepancies early and providing timely warnings.
• Conduct periodic cost audits and produce comprehensive reporting for clients and management.
• Execute detailed quantity take-offs, measurements, and valuations of completed work.
• Manage interim valuations and advise on payments to contractors and suppliers based on contractual agreements.
• Assess and authenticate contractor claims, variations, and final settlements in line with contract terms.
• Support procurement activities for CSA subcontracting, including preparing bill of quantities, defining scopes, and evaluating tenders.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contract documentation to ensure alignment with project and client standards.
• Oversee contractor compliance regarding contract obligations, schedule adherence, and quality control.
• Maintain change management logs and evaluate cost impacts arising from design or scope modifications.
• Contribute to project risk management by identifying cost-related and contractual risks and suggesting mitigation measures.
• Provide regular, precise commercial updates and cost analyses to stakeholders and senior management.
• Engage in progress meetings to aid commercial decision-making using data-backed insights.
• Coordinate with clients, design teams, and contractors for cohesive management of commercial and technical goals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
• Between 5 and 10 years' experience in CSA quantity surveying, with a focus on large-scale pharmaceutical projects.
• Proficient knowledge of construction contracts including FIDIC, NEC, or similar frameworks.
• Experience in European or international projects is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with high numerical accuracy.
• Excellent commercial insight paired with negotiation expertise.
• Capability to work autonomously within client environments.
• Fluent English communication skills, with proficiency in report writing.
• Effective stakeholder engagement skills, embodying a solution-oriented and collaborative approach.
