Job description
Position Overview
We seek a Senior CPU Architect experienced in designing out-of-order (OOO) superscalar CPU cores tailored for next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies, focusing heavily on enhancing performance and optimizing power and area efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed architectural and micro-architectural specifications for CPU cores that guide design teams and other stakeholders, and participate in specification reviews as needed.
- Collaborate closely with architecture colleagues and design teams to enhance CPU system performance, including integration efforts involving coupled accelerators, SoC definition, and software teams.
- Leverage simulation tools to analyze workloads for power consumption and performance metrics, conducting tradeoff analyses to inform feature and design decisions.
- Work closely with implementation and verification teams to support development phases, including power assessments and fabrication process-related decisions.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least seven years in designing OOO superscalar CPU architectures, with proven expertise in assessing micro-architecture trade-offs involving performance, power, and silicon area.
- Deep understanding of CPU micro-architectures, the memory hierarchy, and maintaining coherency in multi-core processor systems.
- Strong knowledge of SoC design paradigms, including the integration of CPUs, accelerators, and memory subsystems.
- Proficient in employing advanced simulators to explore architecture options, validate designs, and project performance, using models that reflect complex software workloads.
- Additional beneficial expertise includes:
- RISC-V architecture comprehension and experience with its hardware/software ecosystems.
- Experience integrating tightly coupled accelerator units.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning software frameworks and their hardware mapping.
Soft Skills
We value team members who prioritize collective outcomes over individual achievements, demonstrate respect, and engage in constructive challenges. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential, alongside enjoying the creative process of delivering innovative products.
