We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our small, hands-on Infrastructure Team based in Toronto. This role involves designing, constructing, and managing our Azure-based cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code techniques.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Azure infrastructure to support Signal 1's software products using automated infrastructure code.
• Develop and manage deployment pipelines that facilitate code promotion from commit stage through production across diverse environments.
• Contribute towards shaping the architectural design of the entire system stack, encompassing both application and infrastructure layers.
• Collaborate with software engineers to identify and resolve live system issues promptly.
• Develop internal full-stack tools aimed at automating routine infrastructure team operations.
• Maintain platform security, compliance, reliability along with monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Lead ownership of assigned components and projects throughout their lifecycle, introducing innovations to enhance team efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years working in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with at least one leading cloud provider such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Practical experience managing Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD workflows including GitHub Actions.
• In-depth knowledge of networking principles focusing on secure cloud network design and implementation.
• Proficient with Python and Bash scripting; able to comprehend application code effectively.
• Comprehensive understanding of modern software system components and their integration from end to end.
• Excellent communication skills to quickly assimilate context, contribute valuable suggestions, and articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with Azure platform, Terragrunt, Istio service mesh, and Datadog monitoring.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS architectures ensuring data isolation by customer.
• Background in developing full-stack internal tooling for deployment and operational workflows.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and SOC 2 and experience with protected health information management.
• Track record of deploying solutions into customer-controlled or private network environments.
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments characterized by rapid development and release cycles.
