Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Python Engineer based in London who will work in a hybrid setup. This permanent role focuses on developing and sustaining backend systems tailored for financial technology applications. The successful applicant will be responsible for producing clean, scalable, and secure code within a collaborative and fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable web applications utilizing Python and Django frameworks.
- Construct and enhance backend services, APIs, and database architectures to optimize performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with product management, design teams, and DevOps to roll out new functionalities and refine existing systems.
- Produce well-documented, clean, and testable code.
- Administer and optimize SQL/PostgreSQL queries, data models, and migrations efficiently.
- Uphold stringent data security, regulatory compliance, and performance standards for financial applications.
- Identify and resolve issues in production environments promptly.
- Engage in code reviews, sprint planning sessions, and technical discussions.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of professional experience in Python programming.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Django web framework.
- Proven experience handling SQL and PostgreSQL, including advanced query optimization and performance tuning.
- Demonstrable background within the FinTech sector is mandatory.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, security protocols, and compliance relevant to financial technology.
- Proficient with version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledgeable about cloud service platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
