Job description
Role Overview
Join a reputed Kolkata-based ISO 9001:2015 certified consulting firm specializing in electrical high voltage (up to 400kV) substations, transmission lines, solar and thermal power projects in India, Middle East, and Africa. As a Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer, you will lead the civil and structural engineering efforts across EHV substations, transmission lines, and heavy industrial projects, ensuring sound foundations, building designs, steel and RCC structures, bill of quantities, and comprehensive drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee civil and structural design work for EHV substations, transmission lines, and industrial heavy projects.
- Produce foundations, building structures, steel and RCC components conforming with specifications and standards.
- Develop detailed BOQs and technical drawings that align with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Indian Standards and design codes for steel and RCC structures.
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to synchronize engineering outputs.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil and structural design for EHV substations, transmission lines, or equivalent heavy industrial projects.
- Expertise in RCC and steel structure design with strong familiarity of Indian Standards such as IS 456, IS 800, IS 875, IS 1893, and IS 13920.
- Proficient in design tools including STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, and AutoCAD with a mandate for AutoCAD and STAAD.Pro use.
- Sound knowledge of foundation design, drainage, and GIS integration within project engineering.
- Experience preparing and interpreting technical documentation including BOQs and structural drawings.
- Understanding of EHV substation layout, AIS configurations, and transmission line design.
- Engineering degree in Civil (B.Tech / B.E.) is required.
