About the Role

KalSoft is seeking an experienced Senior BPM Engineer to create, implement, and maintain process automation solutions oriented towards government e-services, utilizing Camunda 8 technology. This position is based in Doha, Qatar, requiring on-site presence. The successful candidate will own workflow design responsibilities and production support, especially assisting with client migrations from Camunda 7 to Camunda 8. Collaboration with business analysts, integration teams, and client stakeholders is essential to develop efficient and scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop BPMN 2.0 workflows and DMN decision tables supporting both citizen and business electronic services.
  • Create job workers and process applications using Java and Spring Boot; Node.js experience is a beneficial addition.
  • Integrate workflows with various government backend systems, national identity/authentication services, and payment gateways through REST, gRPC, and messaging systems like Kafka.
  • Manage deployment, configuration, and operations of Camunda 8 components (Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, Optimize, Connectors) on Kubernetes infrastructures, either on-premises or cloud environments within the country.
  • Lead assessments and execution of migration projects from Camunda 7 to Camunda 8 for legacy systems.
  • Define service level agreements (SLAs) for processes, monitor them, and resolve issues including incident investigation, bottlenecks, and failed process executions.
  • Create automated tests for processes and establish CI/CD pipelines, ensuring adherence to code quality and security guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute actively to solution architecture and project estimations.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of practical experience with Camunda, including production deployments using Camunda 8 and Zeebe engine.
  • Proficient in Java development and Spring Boot framework.
  • Strong capabilities in RESTful API creation and integration design.
  • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes orchestration, and continuous integration/continuous deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.
  • Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, specifically OAuth2/OIDC protocols and tools like Keycloak or equivalent.
  • Have successfully delivered a minimum of two full lifecycle workflow automation projects in either enterprise or government environments.
  • Thorough understanding of BPMN-driven process automation and enterprise workflow architectures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with technical teams, analysts, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Camunda Professional (Developer or Architect credentials preferred).
  • Firsthand experience with migration from Camunda 7 to Camunda 8 platforms.
  • Exposure to agentic or AI-assisted orchestration within Camunda workflows.
  • Background in payment or case management solutions relevant to the GCC public sector.
