Their flagship product, the "journalistic operating system" (.jOS), is a cloud-based platform designed to service millions by integrating headless CMS systems, enriching content, and distributing it through web and mobile channels. Their clientele ranges from national and regional media houses to other sectors requiring scalable and high-performance digital publishing infrastructures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services for their content platform utilizing Python and FastAPI.
- Create robust data pipelines that convert raw, diverse data sources into well-structured content ready for production.
- Build and manage production-level large language model (LLM) workflows, including elements like prompting, generating structured responses, embeddings, similarity searches, and performance evaluations.
- Develop stable integrations with external APIs, RESTful services, and webhook mechanisms.
- Design and uphold asynchronous processing systems using queues and Redis.
- Support the TypeScript-based services when necessary.
- Participate in architecture discussions, uphold coding standards, ensure code quality, and drive continuous enhancements of the backend ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
- Proficient in Python programming, especially with FastAPI and pydantic frameworks.
- Familiarity with TypeScript sufficient to understand, debug, and contribute to existing services.
- Experience with AI automation projects, specifically integrating, managing, or orchestrating LLM-driven workflows beyond simple API calls.
- Hands-on experience with Redis and message queue systems for asynchronous task processing.
- Strong discipline in software testing using pytest and demonstrated ownership of features throughout their lifecycle from design to deployment.
Preferred Skills
- Practical knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js frameworks such as NestJS.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Familiarity with constructing data pipelines that manage heterogeneous or unstructured data inputs.
- Understanding of vector search systems and embedding storage technologies.
- Previous involvement with third-party content or digital media API integrations.
