Role Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive development of Plaud’s evaluation platform, including step-wise assessments, automated regression monitoring, and deployment quality gates adhering to robust production standards benchmarked against industry leaders.
- Design and maintain the data governance and security framework encompassing real-time masking of sensitive data, schema management, rigorous audit trails, data ownership protocols, and finely controlled access with guaranteed traceability, avoiding direct database connectivity.
- Develop reusable platform tools such as shared SDKs, workflow definitions, and APIs for datasets, models, and metrics to streamline team integrations and accelerate onboarding of new evaluation data sources.
- Drive platform reliability by defining SLA objectives, creating alerting systems, performing incident analysis, and establishing quality control mechanisms that validate evaluation results for release decisions.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI/LLM techniques to replace rigid rule-based logic within evaluation and governance processes, including prototyping, validation, and platform integration of proven methodologies.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, documentation, and incident investigation to boost engineering productivity and quality.
Required Skills and Experience
- Over 5 years of experience in backend or platform engineering with a minimum of 3 years managing complex distributed systems in production, demonstrating proficiency in Go and/or Java.
- Proven expertise in developing shared SDKs and reusable platform services involving Kubernetes/Docker deployment, HTTP/gRPC communications, fault tolerance techniques including retries, rate limiting, circuit breaking, authentication, and fault isolation, with production-scale operation.
- Comprehensive understanding of database architecture focusing on availability, transaction isolation, idempotency, eventual consistency, monitoring, alerting, and failure recovery.
- Practical knowledge of workflow orchestration tools such as Argo Workflows and experience building automated evaluation and validation systems incorporating execution, comparison, reporting, and quality gate features.
- Experience implementing secure data access strategies, incorporating access control, auditing, data ownership, retention policies, least-privilege principles, and sensitive data masking within regulated environments.
- Familiarity with modern data frameworks including Spark, Flink, Snowflake, Databricks, and Athena, along with data warehouse, lake, and governance concepts emphasizing security, traceability, and manageability.
