Senior Azure Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

Join DOCOsoft as a Senior Azure Site Reliability Engineer in Dublin, where you'll be pivotal in maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of our Vew SaaS platform hosted on Microsoft Azure. Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to build and run scalable, resilient systems focusing on automation, observability, incident management, and continuous operational enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems within the Microsoft Azure environment.
• Establish and monitor reliability metrics such as service health indicators and operational performance tracking.
• Create and update Infrastructure as Code using tools like Bicep, ARM, or Terraform for consistent environment provisioning.
• Develop automation workflows for deployment, scaling, and operations, minimizing manual efforts.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines alongside DevOps teams to enhance deployment reliability and efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting systems to ensure prompt issue detection and system visibility.
• Design alerting strategies that minimize noise while maximizing response effectiveness.
• Lead incident response processes including troubleshooting, communication with stakeholders, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.
• Enhance incident and problem management processes to improve SLA adherence and reduce customer impact.
• Pursue long-term systemic improvements to prevent recurring problems rather than temporary fixes.
• Incorporate security and compliance best practices across infrastructure, including access control, encryption, and enforcement of policies.
• Drive ongoing service improvements focused on performance, reliability, efficiency, and operational maturity.
• Work closely with Development and QA teams to enhance application resilience and maintainability.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent role focused on reliability in SaaS or cloud-native settings.
• Proficient in managing production workloads on Microsoft Azure including compute, networking, storage, and monitoring services.
• Strong expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
• Experienced in automation and scripting, specifically proficient in PowerShell; familiarity with additional scripting languages is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration concepts like Kubernetes.
• Knowledgeable in observability tools including Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
• Solid understanding of incident response methods, root cause analyses, SLA/SLO frameworks, and reliability engineering principles.
• Awareness of security and compliance standards such as ISO27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex distributed system issues.
• Effective communicator and team collaborator across engineering, operations, and business domains.
• Desirable: relevant Azure certifications (Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
