Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our IT team in Sydney. This role involves designing and building internal orchestration engines to automate IT processes and access controls that have traditionally been manual and fragmented. The goal is to implement zero-touch automated pipelines and reusable frameworks that enhance operational efficiency and reduce dependencies on individual personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain reliable automated workflows that replace manual activities across IT and critical business operations, eliminating single points of failure.
- Create robust, loosely coupled integration systems utilizing REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven technologies such as Kafka, SQS, and AWS Lambdas to enable seamless communication between applications.
- Implement background processes for user account provisioning and zero-touch access management to drastically cut down on support tickets and enable fast organizational growth.
- Define and uphold technical standards, develop self-service scaffolding, and build reusable integration assets that allow internal teams to adopt automation securely and independently.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise in transforming manual operational workflows into dependable automated pipelines and integration solutions.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms including Kafka, SQS, or AWS Lambdas.
- Advanced skills in API integration involving REST and SOAP, custom API endpoints, and secure secrets management.
- In-depth experience with Identity Management systems, automated access control, and zero-touch provisioning across enterprise applications.
- Robust software engineering capabilities with practical experience implementing solutions beyond conceptual enterprise architecture.
