Senior Architect

About The Role

This position is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and seeks a seasoned Senior Architect to oversee the entire lifecycle of architectural projects, spanning from initial concept stages through to Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation and on-site supervision. The role requires active involvement in both design leadership and technical execution, particularly within hospitality projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design phases from conceptual development to Design Development, Construction Documentation, and IFC issuance.
• Oversee construction activities on-site, including technical and drawing reviews, granting approvals, and ensuring quality standards.
• Evaluate and endorse material specifications and manage mock-up approvals.
• Coordinate project timelines effectively while collaborating across design and construction teams.
• Engage in detailed drawing and technical detailing work beyond managerial duties alone.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including support for new project proposals.
• Communicate directly with the Head of Technical and Chief Design Officer (CDO) regarding technical guidance and strategic project planning.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of combined experience encompassing both design phases and construction supervision; specifying detailed years per area is preferred.
• Proven track record of managing projects from initial design concepts through to IFC documentation.
• Solid construction supervision background, including technical approvals, drawing audits, and materials specification management.
• Experience within the hospitality sector is essential; candidates should clearly identify specific hotel or hospitality projects and their involvement.
• Prior consultancy experience, especially within the GCC or Saudi Arabia-based consultancies, is advantageous.
• Robust hands-on skills in architectural drawings and technical detailing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
