About the Role
We are collaborating with an established and expanding professional services firm seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join their Business Advisory team. This opportunity suits an accountant passionate about direct client interaction and eager to transcend traditional compliance boundaries. You will oversee your client portfolio, offer proactive accounting and business guidance, spot value-enhancing initiatives, and actively contribute to mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage an assigned client portfolio with minimal supervision.
- Develop enduring client relationships through proactive accounting and advisory services.
- Prepare and supervise tax returns, compliance documentation, accounting, and financial reports for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds.
- Identify additional value-adding services like budgeting, variance analysis, business planning, and advisory.
- Spot opportunities to introduce clients to Wealth Advisory and Lending Advisory services.
- Oversee Work-In-Progress (WIP), timesheets, workflow, and productivity targets.
- Review team output ensuring high standards in compliance and processes.
- Mentor, train, and delegate tasks to Accountants, Graduates, and Bookkeepers.
- Support system training and lead process improvements within the Business Advisory team.
- Contribute to continuous enhancements and stay updated with accounting and taxation changes.
Candidate Profile
- Technically proficient with a commercial mindset and strong client engagement skills.
- Solid background in business services, accounting, taxation, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a client portfolio.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Proactive in recognizing client needs and business opportunities.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities, deadlines, and managing WIP efficiently.
- Interest in broader business advisory and commercial dialogues.
- Experience in mentoring or supporting junior colleagues.
- CA or CPA qualified or actively pursuing qualification.
