Role Overview
Our expanding Kilkenny office is seeking an ambitious Senior Accountant to join a high-performance team and contribute significantly to our ongoing business growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements compliant with Irish GAAP standards (FRS 102, FRS 105).
- Ensure adherence to Companies Act 2014 and other pertinent regulations.
- Oversee the production and analysis of management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Manage the preparation and review of corporation and income tax returns.
- Provide expert advice on VAT, PAYE, and related compliance requirements.
- Act as liaison with the Revenue Commissioners to resolve client queries and compliance matters.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and trainees, including reviewing their work and offering training and technical support.
- Assist in developing firm-wide processes and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Fully qualified accountant with credentials such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 to 3 years post-qualification experience within a practice environment.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Irish accounting standards and tax compliance requirements.
- Experience leading audit engagements and managing client portfolios.
- Proficiency in accounting software platforms including Relate, Surf, Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
