This role involves managing contracted security personnel performance, supervising onsite command-and-control functions, and ensuring compliance with Maersk Global Security protocols and recognized industry standards such as TAPA and C-TPAT.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all security operations onsite, including monitoring screening, access control, CCTV, electronic security systems, and physical infrastructure to guarantee operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with the security vendor to prioritize security measures and apply lessons from incidents.
  • Manage perimeter security according to Maersk policies and regulatory mandates.
  • Coordinate manpower deployment to ensure continuous shift coverage, validating competencies and providing coaching or corrective feedback as needed.
  • Ensure security agency complies with PLRD licensing and adheres to site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead the initial response to security incidents, conduct preliminary investigations, secure evidence, and document incidents promptly.
  • Escalate significant incidents to Security Management following protocols and customer requirements, maintaining comprehensive digital logs and audit records.
  • Lead escalations to senior management, customers, and regulators when necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain compliance and effectiveness of physical security, systems, and operational processes.
  • Perform security risk assessments and recommend mitigation aligned with Maersk Global Standards, TAPA, and C-TPAT requirements.
  • Maintain and validate all documentation relevant to internal and external compliance frameworks, including TAPA FSR, C-TPAT, and customer audits.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement of security and resilience capabilities as aligned with Maersk standards.
  • Prepare for audits, ensuring evidence integrity and sustained compliance beyond immediate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate security arrangements for VIP visits, customer engagements, and high-traffic operational periods in partnership with security vendors.
  • Manage crowd control, traffic flow, and emergency access routes alongside outsourced teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Support business continuity through emergency response readiness and participation in drills and exercises.
  • Review and update Site Security SOPs to incorporate operational changes, audit feedback, and emerging threats.
  • Identify and implement improvements in security processes, technological applications, and workforce capability.
  • Assist in security training analysis and contribute to upskilling initiatives for both internal personnel and outsourced security teams.
  • Drive improvements in security maturity and embed security considerations in operational leadership decisions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Four to six years of supervisory experience in security operations within logistics, warehouse, or industrial settings.
  • Possession of a valid PLRD Security Licence and Security Supervisory certification.
  • Preferably completed WSQ modules relevant to the PWM Security Supervisor track.
  • Proficient in CCTV operation, electronic security systems, and command-centre monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks such as TAPA FSR/TSR, C-TPAT, and relevant local regulations is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined leader capable of managing multi-shift teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience handling audits, investigations, and vendor management.
  • Proven success in implementing security improvements through technology integration.
  • Experienced in initiatives aimed at optimizing security-related costs.

Preferred Attributes

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence both internal teams and external service providers.
  • Analytical ability to recognize risks and suggest practical mitigation strategies that are operationally feasible.
  • Experience in emergency response, crisis coordination, or business continuity is a plus.
