Job description
Overview
The Project Coordinator in Maersk's Project Logistics (MPL) team takes full ownership of the operational management related to shipments across Ocean and Logistics divisions. This role is responsible for creating, coordinating, and closing shipment files efficiently, and reports directly to the MPL Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage customer shipments in line with implementation plans and client specifications while ensuring adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) standards and timely reporting.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of external elements influencing the customer's supply chain, recognizing their urgency, service expectations, and strategic drivers.
- Align proactively with customer expectations and respond by offering appropriate logistical solutions.
- Serve as the primary liaison for assigned customers, facilitating seamless execution of the complete shipment process, including inland deliveries by collaborating closely with both customers and internal teams.
- Continuously monitor shipments, promptly informing customers about any deviations from planned transport schedules and proposing alternative solutions.
- Conduct customer onboarding and cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships with a commitment to exceeding customer service expectations and delivering effective solutions.
- Coordinate and prepare transportation plans alongside suppliers.
- Manage daily customer relationships and operations, including the creation of Sales Orders/Purchase Orders and shipment files within operational systems.
- Ensure daily Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) updates and pursue operational efficiency through automation and standardization.
- Safeguard Customer Service Index (CSI) standards for third-party suppliers and partners.
- Comply with execution and reporting requirements in line with regulatory standards.
