Solutions Design Coordinator - SAA

Overview

The Solutions Design Coordinator leads advanced engineering design efforts for Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) customer pursuits, specializing in new markets including geographies and clients. This role collaborates closely with business development and operations excellence teams, focusing on creating standardized, innovative, and automated solutions to increase effectiveness within the MPL domain. Reporting directly to the Area Head of MPL, the coordinator plays a crucial role in shaping solution design capabilities and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and own the solution design process, gathering essential data and assumptions required to design, cost, and price customer solutions effectively.
• Incorporate comprehensive service scopes, operational and resource models, cost estimates, pricing recommendations, value assessments for clients, and preliminary P&L drafts in detailed solution designs.
• Calculate MPL project size and scope requirements primarily based on customer RFQ product data.
• Develop detailed process flow diagrams for critical operational activities.
• Provide engineering design expertise and visualizations to support technical RFQ responses.
• Collaborate closely with LEAN and Business Process Engineering specialists to embed LEAN principles into new commercial opportunities within the geographical scope.
• Contribute innovative ideas to help craft highly competitive service offerings.
• Participate actively in the MPL Solution Design Community for knowledge exchange and continuous improvement encouragement.
• Support automation initiative proof-of-concept development.
• Guide regional solution design teams on emerging opportunities including RFP responses, strategic cross-country projects, CAPEX proposals, presentation materials, and technical documents.
• Drive capability building and learning & development programs to cultivate a skilled internal talent pool in solution design with assistance from People functions.

Accountabilities

• Designing new and renewal MPL solutions within the geographic region.
• Ensuring successful delivery of solution designs aligned with organizational goals.
• Enhancing solution design capabilities across the territory.
• Fostering innovation and standardization throughout the area of responsibility.
• Co-developing customer solutions alongside solution engineers from complementary logistics and services products.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing solutions for MPL services.
• Deep expertise designing MPL solutions specific to core verticals.
• Advanced solution engineering skills focused on productivity improvements and financial impact through process modifications.
• Experience in MPL or logistics operations including operational implementation phase involvement.
• Strong analytical and innovative thinker skilled at generating recommendations from ambiguous or incomplete data.
