Job description
Overview
This role is dedicated to overseeing and enhancing cybersecurity operations within Specialized's networks, systems, and applications. The primary goal is to ensure vigilant threat monitoring, efficient incident management, comprehensive vulnerability handling, and effective risk reduction. The specialist is expected to strengthen cybersecurity controls, foster ongoing improvements in security operations, conduct thorough security audits, and guarantee adherence to cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory standards, and industry norms, all while aligning with company policies and procedures.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct ongoing surveillance of networks, applications, and systems, including integration points with mission-critical clients to detect, evaluate, and react promptly to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Supervise the deployment and efficiency of security measures across network infrastructure and security platforms, ensuring conformity to established cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Lead Security Operations Center (SOC) functions, managing threat identification, incident triage, coordination of responses, and resolution based on preset service levels and standards.
- Examine cybersecurity incidents and attack vectors to determine root causes, propose remedial measures, and enhance the overall security stance.
- Oversee security and vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and formulate remediation strategies for key networks and applications.
- Advance vulnerability management through coordinating patch deployments, system hardening, and security setting reviews to mitigate organizational risks.
- Collaborate with strategic and governance teams to maintain cybersecurity documentation, evidence, and operational records needed for audits, compliance, and regulatory procedures.
- Communicate cybersecurity risk findings, incident investigations, and security recommendations to management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Incorporate threat intelligence and emerging threat data to bolster security prevention and detection mechanisms.
- Track security performance indicators, incident trends, and operational efficiency, suggesting enhancements to elevate SOC maturity and overall security operations.
- Support continuous upgrades of cybersecurity frameworks, operational protocols, and incident response processes across the enterprise.
- Lead educational initiatives and share security knowledge within operational teams to boost preparedness and response capability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, System Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of six years' experience in a relevant cybersecurity capacity.
- Fluent proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
