Role Overview

This full-time Security Officer role is based onsite at Teesside Park, Middlesbrough, working a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off shift system. The hourly wage is £13.45. The key responsibility is to protect customers, employees, and property by maintaining vigilant site surveillance, performing regular patrols, and promptly addressing any security incidents or alarms.

Key Responsibilities

• Control access points by verifying passes and authorizations to ensure only permitted entry.
• Maintain compliance with site safety protocols and rules to uphold a safe environment.
• Operate CCTV and other security monitoring systems to oversee the premises continuously.
• Document incidents accurately, keep detailed logs, and prepare reports as necessary.
• Coordinate with emergency services and site management during security events.
• Provide a professional and active security presence to support customer safety and confidence.
• Help sustain a clean, orderly, and compliant site environment as part of daily duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Sharp situational awareness, able to quickly identify and react to security threats.
• Previous experience in security roles within retail, commercial, or public sectors.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities, with professional interaction skills.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate records including incident reports and logbooks; comfortable with basic IT tools.
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays in a 4 on / 4 off pattern.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working individually and cooperatively within a team following company and site procedures.
• Physically fit to conduct extended patrols and stand for long durations as needed.
• Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence for Security Guard or Door Supervisor roles, with legal right to work in the UK; first aid certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards and emergency response procedures in busy public settings.
