Role Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and security protocols according to the hotel's management standards, ensuring the protection of guests, staff, and property.
Key Duties
- Operate the Control Room by verifying visitor credentials and issuing passes after thorough checks.
- Manage departmental keys by distributing after verification and recording returns diligently.
- Document all security-related occurrences meticulously in the Security Management Occurrence log.
- Respond to telephone inquiries professionally and calmly.
- Handle Lost and Found items by documenting, photographing, and forwarding unclaimed items to Housekeeping.
- Address fire alarm activations promptly by alerting CERT members, Decam monitoring, hotel operators, and generating Fire Alarm reports.
- Assist in evacuations when necessary.
- Manage the Electronic Parking System including generating daily financial reports.
- Carry out any additional duties as directed by security supervisors or management.
- Prepare for duties as a CERT member when required.
- Perform static security duties such as maintaining calm, greeting guests, monitoring for disturbances, and managing vehicle and traffic control, including parking in loading bays and carparks.
- Ensure only authorized vehicles and contractors access specific areas.
- Respond to emergencies within three minutes.
- Regularly patrol premises and grounds, preventing crime and reporting incidents or suspicious items, ensuring adequate lighting and perimeter safety.
- Patrol public areas such as Raffles Arcade Blocks to assist guests or the public and deter misconduct.
- Offer security escorts for finance staff and crowd control during events or VIP visits.
- Serve as part of the emergency response team and first aid providers as required.
Candidate Profile
- Must be a registered Security Officer holding a valid Security License issued by the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD).
- Completed secondary education and WSQ Certification in Security Operations.
- Certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, and a CERT member as per SCDF High Risks Installation Tier 1 criteria.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience within the hotel industry.
- Outgoing, calm under pressure, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Proficient in English (oral and written); additional languages are advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with employees across all levels.
- Service-oriented mindset with attention to detail and investigative skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
- Adaptable to change, self-motivated, and possess good initiative.
- Computer literacy is considered a plus.
