Role Overview

This role involves delivering warm and efficient wine service that enhances guests' dining experiences to meet high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve wines professionally, ensuring proper presentation including appropriate glassware and temperature.
• Support the Sommelier by suggesting wine options, providing expert advice, and efficiently handling orders.
• Promote wine offerings including aperitifs, upselling by the glass or bottle, and post-meal services.
• Maintain a polished appearance following the hotel's grooming standards.
• Welcome and bid farewell to guests with courteous, friendly interaction.
• Personalize service by using guests' names appropriately and adapting to special requests.
• Implement the Heartist® philosophy to make guests feel welcomed, valued, and connected.
• Seek opportunities to enhance sales and guest satisfaction, such as suggesting additional glasses of wine when suitable.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in wine order taking, delivery, and pickup.
• Prepare mise-en-place efficiently, manage wine inventory according to par stock, and maintain organized wine cellars and daily wine reports.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in all wine and service areas.
• Participate actively in wine knowledge training sessions and adhere to the colleague handbook policies.
• Comply with emergency procedures, health and safety guidelines, and foster collaborative relationships with team members and management.

• Support the hotel's Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

• Certification or diploma in Hospitality or related discipline preferred.
• Previous wine experience is advantageous, including wine production, sales, or qualifications such as Master Court Sommelier or WSET Level 2.
• 6 to 12 months experience in a wine service or similar operational role.
• Experience in service or retail environments.
• Solid knowledge of wine, beverages, and food, obtained either through professional roles or personal passion.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Strong enthusiasm and passion for the wine industry.
• Neat and well-groomed appearance.
• Energetic and motivated; able to work effectively within a team.
