Security Officer

Role Overview

Join our team as a Security Officer committed to safeguarding property, people, and assets by strictly following site-specific Assignment Instructions and adapting to any updates. The role demands adherence to performance standards to achieve or surpass key performance indicators and service level agreements, supporting contract retention. Ongoing training and professional development are expected to maintain high competency.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with all relevant company policies, legal regulations, and directives from the Security Account Manager consistent with UK law and regulatory guidance.
• Accurately fulfill all duties and tasks specified in the current Assignment Instructions, promptly reviewing and proposing improvements to enhance service quality.
• Maintain a valid frontline security license—either Security Guarding or Door Supervision—and carry it alongside a CCTV PSS SIA License as required by the client; complete any further contract-mandated training.
• Adhere to legal, safety, and procedural protocols without unnecessarily challenging authority, working methodically and systematically.
• Complete all mandatory competency training and pursue ongoing development initiatives directed by management.
• Utilize technology effectively to meet job requirements and upgrade professional skills continually.
• Renew all necessary licenses at least 16 weeks prior to expiration.
• Promptly identify and report any health and safety hazards on the site while remaining alert to potential security threats, taking appropriate preventive or corrective actions immediately.
• Handle challenging or threatening situations professionally and document all incidents in detail for reporting.
• Maintain strict adherence to schedules, carrying out check calls as outlined in the Assignment Instructions and promptly notifying emergency services and the Communication Centre about incidents.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience in security roles is essential.
• Possession of a current Security Industry Authority (SIA) license for frontline security duties.
• Security Clearance (SC) is preferred but not mandatory.
