Security Support Officer

Overview

Join Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services as a Security Support Officer, committed to safeguarding our clients' properties, personnel, and assets by strictly following established site Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any necessary updates. Your role will significantly contribute to exceeding key performance indicators and service level agreements, supporting contract retention.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure full adherence to policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements under the guidance of the Security Account Manager and in line with UK legislation and relevant authorities.
• Complete all site-specific tasks to the stipulated standards within the published Assignment Instructions, proactively reviewing and suggesting improvements.
• Maintain valid front-line security licenses (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times during duties, complying with applicable industry and statutory laws.
• Operate systematically and methodically, following instructions without unnecessary disputes, whilst meeting safety obligations and legal mandates.
• Undertake all necessary competency training satisfactorily and engage in further self-development as directed.
• Leverage technology effectively to meet objectives and enhance professional expertise.
• Report any health and safety hazards immediately and stay vigilant to threats or workplace changes, taking appropriate action to prevent disruptions or damage.
• Maintain professionalism during challenging situations or when dealing with difficult individuals.
• Document incidents accurately and promptly for incident reporting and maintain commitment to schedules and company standards.
• Carry out allocated check calls as per Assignment Instructions and promptly contact emergency services and the Communication Centre when incidents occur.
• Ensure license renewal occurs at least 16 weeks prior to expiry.

Candidate Expectations

• Prior experience in a security role.
• Possession of a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) license.
• Essential to have own transport for the role.
