Security Officer

Position Overview

The Security Officer role entails comprehensive property patrol duties, assisting guests with room access, and monitoring security systems including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. Responsibilities include securing property entrances, conducting daily hazard inspections, responding to accidents with EMS or first aid/CPR support, and aiding guests and employees during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol entire property grounds thoroughly.
• Assist guests in accessing their rooms efficiently.
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems to detect and prevent security threats.
• Secure entrances by locking them when necessary.
• Perform daily inspections to identify and resolve physical hazards.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations including accidents and medical incidents.
• Manage disturbances involving guests or employees and, if required, call for external assistance.
• Document all security or loss prevention incidents accurately through incident reports and shift summaries.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality of sensitive security information and reports.
• Conduct investigations, collect evidence, and interview involved parties regarding incidents.
• Escort unauthorized individuals off the premises without disrupting business operations.
• Respond to vehicle accidents or thefts on the property appropriately.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and safety standards while maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
• Engage with guests professionally to anticipate and fulfill service needs, including assisting guests with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal interactions.
• Demonstrate teamwork and contribute to collective goals.
• Comply with quality assurance protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Execute physical tasks involving prolonged standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds unaided, and over 75 pounds with assistance), maneuvering in confined spaces, and moving over uneven terrain.
• Be ready to perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
