Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of cloud security strategies tailored for our AWS cloud infrastructure supporting our digital banking platform.
- Partner with platform engineers to evaluate and secure technical designs and deployment architectures.
- Perform comprehensive security assessments on cloud environments, services, and patterns to identify and mitigate risks.
- Implement robust security controls and monitoring frameworks within AWS cloud setups to ensure compliance and threat detection.
- Ensure deployment adheres to banking regulations and security standards relevant to the financial sector.
- Collaborate across teams including Application Security, Security Architecture, and Security Engineering to develop holistic security approaches.
- Engage with technical and non-technical leadership to present security plans, potential risks, and mitigation strategies effectively.
- Facilitate communication between engineering units and business stakeholders to align security objectives.
- Guide innovation in security engineering by leading the design and improvement of security platforms, automation, incident response, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Mentor and lead security engineering teams, fostering professional growth and best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving cloud security threats, tools, and methodologies to keep the bank’s defenses advanced.
- Create and manage security policies, standards, and procedures specific to cloud technologies and digital transformation efforts.
- Lead cloud-related security incident investigations and provide forensic analysis for threat response.
- Report security performance metrics and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum 8 years overall experience in cybersecurity, including over 5 years specializing in cloud security or security engineering disciplines.
- At least 3 years in leadership roles overseeing technical teams in security engineering.
- Expert-level expertise in AWS security services such as IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, among others.
- Strong background in cloud-native security design, encompassing zero-trust architectures and automated security implementations.
- Hands-on skills with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform and CloudFormation are essential.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, security automation, and container security technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
- Deep understanding of network security constructs within cloud environments, such as VPCs, security groups, and NACLs.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment affecting financial institutions, including banking compliance frameworks and data privacy standards.
- Proven capability to communicate complex security concepts to diverse audiences including executives and technical teams.
- Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.
