Role Overview

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will architect, develop, and manage the GenAI Platform Services that enable AI use cases across the bank. This position involves ownership and improvement of several core service groups of the platform, such as orchestration, evaluation, model gateway, and memory subsystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain GenAI Platform Services in areas like Agent Runtime orchestration, Workflow orchestration, tool calling, identities, online and offline evaluation systems, model gateways, cost metering, registries, embedding pipelines, vector storage, and memory systems.
• Create streamlined build and release processes allowing for versioning, testing, and promotion of agents, prompts, evaluations, and models via a unified "golden path" pipeline.
• Implement robust evaluation gates encompassing offline assessments, LLM-graded evaluations, red teaming procedures, and A/B testing to ensure quality control before production deployment.
• Incorporate automated governance mechanisms including guardrails, monitoring, access controls, audit logs, and Model Risk Management as core platform features.
• Collaborate with Frontline Development Engineers (FDE) and AI Operations teams by supplying SDKs, templates, documentation, and examples, while incorporating their operational feedback into ongoing platform improvements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with proven responsibility for production-grade platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling systems.
• Proficiency with cloud-native technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipelines and build tooling including reproducible builds, artifact registries, promotion and rollback mechanisms, and policy-as-code enforcement.
• A strong platform-as-a-product mindset focused on end-user internal adoption, reliability, and lead time rather than code volume.
• Comfort working in regulated environments prioritizing security, governance, auditability, and risk management.

Role-Specific Technical Skills

• Experience with cloud GPU infrastructure, inference serving, and scalable model hosting architectures.
• Familiarity with financial services and banking industry standards, alongside AI governance and guardrail tooling.
• Proven success building self-service developer platforms or "golden path" solutions widely adopted by internal teams.
• Knowledge of GenAI and Large Language Model components including model routing gateways, retrieval-augmented generation systems, vector databases, orchestration of agents and tools, as well as evaluation methods such as offline evaluations, red teaming, and A/B testing.
