Role Overview
We seek a Senior Security Engineer to actively protect our cloud-based and platform infrastructure. This position involves collaborating with engineering teams to build, audit, and maintain security controls primarily through Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and custom security tools developed in Go and TypeScript.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and oversee secure cloud deployments across AWS and Google Cloud Platform using Terraform.
- Manage security products, both in-house and third-party, within Kubernetes environments.
- Utilize GitOps workflows with tools like Argo CD, Flux, and Helm for continuous deployment security.
- Develop automated security tooling and services using Go and TypeScript.
- Identify and correct cloud configuration errors proactively.
- Advise engineering teams on security best practices for cloud architecture.
- Create and improve cloud-native threat detection rules and alert systems to monitor suspicious activities in cloud and container workloads.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 8 years’ experience in security engineering or related fields.
- Proven experience securing production environments in AWS and GCP.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes security, including Helm chart troubleshooting and GitOps workflows.
- Proficient programming skills in Go and TypeScript; Python for automation is advantageous.
- Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Mandatory certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Security, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Terraform Associate.
- Familiarity with Policy-as-Code using Open Policy Agent (OPA) and experience securing service mesh platforms such as Istio is beneficial.
- Background in software or platform engineering prior to security specialization is advantageous.
