Second Commis Chef (Inflight, Bakery & Pastry)

Position Overview

The role of Second Commis Chef involves preparing, cooking, chilling, and portioning meals following precise specifications provided by supervisors. You will support the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure meals meet airline standards, executing tasks swiftly and efficiently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently prepare food items as per flight requirements.
• Support team members by properly handling kitchen equipment and ingredients to prevent damage or waste.
• Follow senior staff instructions to maintain smooth kitchen operations during your shift.
• Adhere strictly to HACCP hygiene and quality protocols, maintaining accurate documentation for all meals produced.
• Help the supervisor in implementing FIFO (First In First Out) procedures for managing raw and processed food items.
• Ensure meals are produced according to flight load, properly labeled with clear names and date codes for easy handling.
• Prepare, bake, and present food items assigned to you, maintaining consistent quality and meeting agreed standards under guidance.
• Monitor raw material usage and requirements in your section throughout your shift.

About You

• Minimum high school qualification.
• At least two years of relevant culinary experience.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Foundational cooking techniques.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
