Sea Freight Operations Executive

About the Role

We are looking for a Sea Freight Operations Executive to join our active Air & Ocean Freight team located in North Dublin. This role offers a dynamic and diverse set of responsibilities focused on managing sea freight imports and exports with accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will be instrumental in handling shipment bookings, tracking, coordinating logistics, and maintaining excellent communication across customers, suppliers, shipping lines, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee import operations including managing FCL and LCL consignments, entering shipments into the Cargowise system, coordinating customs clearance documentation, liaising with customs brokerage for entries and duties, and scheduling haulier collections and final deliveries.
• Conduct thorough checks of Bills of Lading for original or express status and verify Incoterm conditions.
• Handle export duties such as receiving and processing customer bookings, verifying rates and costs, arranging shipments and transportation, creating export FCL and LCL shipments in Cargowise, issuing booking confirmations with ETD/ETA, and preparing MBL/HBL documents.
• Communicate shipment departures with shipping lines and provide pre-alert documents to overseas partners and agents.
• Manage invoicing and shipment cost coordination efficiently, and resolve any customer or account queries promptly via phone or email.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least two years of experience in sea freight operations encompassing both import and export shipments.
• Proficiency in handling FCL and LCL shipments and familiarity with relevant shipping documents including Bills of Lading and Incoterms.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Word techniques.
• Experience with the Cargowise system is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of customs clearance processes is beneficial.
• Exceptional customer service skills combined with clear and effective communication abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple shipments under strict deadlines.
• Confidence in collaborating with a range of stakeholders including customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Self-driven with both independent work capabilities and teamwork orientation, applying a proactive approach to meet targets and maintain service standards.
