Overview
Adani Airport Holdings Limited is revolutionizing the aviation sector by enhancing airport infrastructure, boosting connectivity, and focusing on passenger experience and operational excellence. The company seeks a dedicated Screener to ensure safe and efficient baggage screening in compliance with regulatory standards, detecting prohibited or dangerous items effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Participate and successfully complete all required regulatory training sessions.
- Operate X-BIS screening equipment to analyze baggage images and identify dangerous goods, weapons, and prohibited articles following Avsec guidelines and SOPs.
- Conduct physical baggage inspections and use ETD (Explosive Trace Detection) tests on flagged items.
- Maintain exemplary Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation skills.
- Abide by BCAS and DGCA directives ensuring compliance during all baggage inspection tasks.
- Document and log screening findings meticulously for audits and inspections.
- Perform routine equipment pre-operational checks on X-BIS, ETD, CT-EDS, and other security devices to ensure functionality.
- Report any equipment defects or downtimes promptly and assist in operational record keeping.
- Collaborate effectively with CISF, airline personnel, and other stakeholders during baggage inspections and suspicious item handling.
- Keep supervisors informed on operational status and issues requiring attention.
- Manage time efficiently to complete screening and inspections swiftly without jeopardizing security standards.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, adhering to workplace policies and contributing positively to the team spirit.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
- TSA certification is mandatory; preferable to have completed BCAS AVSEC basic course and certifications for standalone or inline screening and DGR CAT 12 from DGCA-approved centers.
- Possession of NCC “C” or “B” certificate is advantageous.
- Open to candidates who are freshers or have 1-2 years of relevant security screening or airport-related experience.
- Prior experience operating screening machines and knowledge of security protocols desired.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- Visual acuity: Minimum 20/60 in both eyes without corrective lenses, or 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other with glasses or contacts.
- Adequate color vision is necessary.
- Hearing: Hearing loss must be less than 30 dB below 2000 Hz for each ear on audiogram testing.
- Speech clarity to communicate effectively and quickly during crisis situations.
- Sense of smell sufficient to detect odors relevant to security.

- Must exhibit exemplary civility, professional conduct, sobriety, and courteous interaction with the public.
Key Stakeholders
Work coordination involves internal teams like CSO, Lead Avsec Audit & Compliance, Pass Section, Senior Security Screeners, Terminal Operations, IT, HR, Compliance, and other operational departments. External interactions include TSA, aircraft operators, airport authorities, passengers, BCAS, local police, law enforcement agencies, service providers, and relevant regulatory bodies.
