Job description
Overview
We are looking for a driven Scientist to join our team focused on creating advanced optical measurement solutions aimed at semiconductor manufacturing and inspection processes. The role involves the design and construction of customized optical metrology systems, along with their integration and rigorous testing across multidisciplinary domains such as optics, precision instrumentation, automation, software engineering, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop bespoke optical measurement setups for semiconductor inspection and metrology purposes.
- Create and maintain system control software, automate data collection, and perform thorough system calibration, testing, and validation activities.
- Conduct analysis on measurement results to improve system performance and formulate algorithms for detecting and characterizing defects.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and industry collaborators to deliver innovative optical inspection solutions.
- Generate technical documentation, contribute to scientific publications, and assist in transferring technology to practical applications.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Practical experience with optical instrumentation, precision measurement techniques, or semiconductor inspection equipment.
- Proficient in scientific programming languages and environments such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or LabVIEW, including hardware interfacing and control.
- Demonstrated analytical, experimental, and problem-solving capabilities, with aptitude for independent work and collaboration in multidisciplinary environments.
Preferred Expertise
- Background in developing and integrating optical characterization or metrology systems, including familiarity with microscopy imaging, interferometry, and phase imaging techniques.
- Know-how in image processing, computer vision, or artificial intelligence methods applied to optical inspection and measurement.
- Experience with optical design software like Zemax, precision motion controls, and automation frameworks commonly used in laboratory or industrial settings.
