About the Role
We are seeking a Quantitative Trader to join a prominent proprietary trading firm based in Singapore. This role focuses on the creation, implementation, and refinement of systematic trading strategies across various global financial markets. The position requires close collaboration with quantitative researchers, trading personnel, and technology teams to pinpoint trading opportunities, develop and rigorously test scalable strategies, and enhance trading effectiveness on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and upgrade systematic trading approaches
- Construct, backtest, and refine quantitative trading models that can be scaled efficiently
- Perform detailed analysis of trading performance and financial time-series data using statistical and data-centric techniques
- Automate trading strategies systematically to optimize execution quality
- Build, test, and continuously enhance financial modeling tools
- Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to support and improve electronic trading platforms
- Monitor risk factors and trading outcomes, ensuring adherence to risk management standards
- Explore market dynamics, identify lucrative opportunities, and convert quantitative findings into practical trading strategies
- Assume full responsibility for strategies throughout research, testing, implementation, and ongoing optimization stages
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 8 years of experience in quantitative or algorithmic trading, or in a closely related function
- Professional background in proprietary trading firms, high-frequency trading entities, market making, or quantitative trading environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, ideally from a leading educational institution
- Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Solid knowledge of probability theory, statistics, and analysis of financial time-series data
- Advanced programming abilities in C++ and/or Python
- Thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Experience in developing, backtesting, and evaluating systematic trading systems
- Strong grasp of trading infrastructure, execution mechanics, and risk control measures
- Capability to work autonomously and take full ownership for the performance and management of trading strategies
