About Us

The Esri R&D center in Stuttgart develops Reality Engine, a software globally employed to generate 3D surface reconstructions from images and lidar data with high accuracy for large-scale applications like city or country aerial mapping. This data supports varied sectors including smart city planning, infrastructure development, 5G network layout, environmental monitoring, cadastral mapping, and virtual reality.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team to develop advanced software for 3D reconstruction from imagery and lidar, including scene interpretation and visualization tools
- Deliver high-performance, maintainable code supporting social and environmental initiatives such as global GIS monitoring
- Handle processing of images, point clouds, and textured mesh data
- Advance the cutting-edge in computer vision, photogrammetry, machine learning, and computer graphics techniques
- Directly influence the platform used by a growing community focused on reality capture technology
Requirements
- Proficient in C++ programming
- Minimum two years of experience in image processing, computer vision, computer graphics, photogrammetry, or similar fields
- Strong inclination towards research, design, coding, testing, debugging, and performance profiling
- Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous
- Motivated to continuously improve team communication and self-leadership skills
- Keen interest in the geospatial sector
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or a related discipline
- Valid authorization to work in Germany
- Familiarity with Esri software products
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or related area
- Experience collaborating on shared codebases
- Exposure to scalable algorithm development
