Job description

About the Role

This role offers a valuable chance to contribute to an organization dedicated to ending homelessness and improving the wellbeing of vulnerable populations in the Victoria community. The Scheduler plays a crucial role in coordinating employee shift schedules, managing call-outs, absences, and ensuring accurate payroll data entry in compliance with collective agreement guidelines. This position also involves compiling and reporting various staff and client statistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating shift schedules efficiently and addressing call-outs and absences.
  • Managing vacation and sick leave replacements following collective agreement rules.
  • Ensuring precise entry and review of payroll timesheets.
  • Compiling, tracking, and preparing reports on staff and client-related statistical data.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a diploma or certificate in Business and Administration is advantageous.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a related administrative or scheduling role.
  • Familiarity with web-based payroll software is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience using database management software.
  • Successful completion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.

Work Conditions and Benefits

  • Hourly wage ranges from $32.02 to $35.52.
  • Work location: 535 Ellice Street, Rock Bay Landing, Victoria, BC.
  • Workdays are Wednesday through Saturday.
  • Shift hours run from 6:45 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Total of 40 hours per week in a permanent, full-time capacity.
  • Union affiliation: BC Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU).

Additional Information

New hires may qualify to transfer their work hours between various Community Social Services Agencies under applicable retention and portability agreements, subject to certain restrictions.
