Position Overview

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to serve as the technical lead during the pre-sales phase, reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Sales. You will spearhead technical discussions with clients and prospects and collaborate closely with the UK and Ireland Enterprise sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the UKI Enterprise team to devise and implement targeted account penetration strategies.
• Design and advocate for intricate People-Centric Security solutions covering the comprehensive Proofpoint portfolio.
• Provide valuable customer insights and practical experiences to Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure our solutions remain top-tier.
• Develop expertise in areas including Email Security, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and the prevailing threat landscape.
• Ensure adherence to standards such as ISO, NIST, and MITRE.
• Represent the company at industry seminars and trade shows as required.

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in a customer-oriented technical role such as Sales/System Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior-level product support/professional services, preferably within enterprise cybersecurity.
• Strong background with enterprise email solutions, email authentication, advanced persistent threats, data security, network security, cloud security, and shadow IT understanding.
• Familiarity and practical use of AI tools in the workplace.
• Highly self-driven and capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the discipline to stay focused in a partner office environment.
• Effective communicator who proactively keeps Account Managers informed about customer engagements, pipeline development, and priorities.
• Comfortable serving as the local technical representative to advance opportunities and assist customers between Account Manager engagements.
• Strong presentation abilities, confident in addressing individuals and teams, including technical personnel and C-suite executives.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• CISSP or equivalent certification in the security industry.
