Role Overview
Joining as an Associate Seller or Business Development Representative, you'll be part of the North America or EMEA sales development teams, tasked with generating high-quality sales pipeline opportunities within the insurance sector. The role entails close collaboration with Regional Sales Managers, Marketing, and Sales teams to identify, engage, and qualify prospective customers through a multifaceted outreach approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Create qualified sales opportunities by combining outbound prospecting and inbound lead management within insurance companies.
- Conduct detailed research on target accounts, stakeholders, market trends, and business priorities to recognize potential prospects.
- Engage potential customers using various communication channels including phone, email, social platforms, and other digital means.
- Perform initial qualification discussions to grasp client challenges and measure compatibility with Varicent's solutions.
- Apply qualification frameworks like MEDDICC to effectively assess and advance sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers and Marketing teams to synchronize outreach tactics and pipeline cultivation activities.
- Keep Salesforce and other sales engagement tools updated with precise activity, account, and opportunity data.
- Monitor outreach campaign results and iteratively enhance prospecting techniques informed by performance insights and feedback.
Candidate Profile
- Proficiency in both English and French, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in business development, sales development, inside sales, or a similar SaaS sales field.
- Strong ability to build professional relationships and effectively engage business stakeholders.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding activity, pipeline, or meeting generation targets.
- Experience using CRM and sales engagement platforms such as Salesforce, Salesloft, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Adept at researching accounts, discerning business needs, and customizing outreach strategies accordingly.
- Keen interest in the insurance industry and eagerness to learn about Sales Performance Management, Incentive Compensation, and Sales Planning.
- Adaptable and quick learner who thrives in collaborative and dynamic work settings.
Success Milestones
- First 3 Months: Successfully onboarded and familiar with Varicent’s products, sales processes, tools, and insurance-focused market segments; consistent execution of multi-channel prospecting; accurate CRM data management.
- 6 Months: Regularly generating qualified meetings and pipeline opportunities in line with targets; effective discovery and qualification skills; robust account research and stakeholder mapping; productive collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
- 12 Months: Autonomously managing territory-based prospecting resulting in steady qualified pipeline; exhibiting strong qualification competencies including identifying challenges and decision-makers; continuously refining outreach via data-driven approaches and AI sales tools; establishing credibility with both prospects and colleagues.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary for this position ranges between £48,500 and £63,700 annually. Additionally, the compensation plan may include sales commissions and bonuses for eligible roles, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
