Job description

About Kojo

Kojo is revolutionizing the construction industry, a sector at the heart of major societal challenges such as housing, infrastructure, and climate adaptation. Established in 2018, Kojo has rapidly become one of the most dynamic construction tech companies, aiming to make material procurement simpler and more affordable for commercial construction firms. Materials can represent up to 40% of project costs, yet the sector has seen little innovation in seven decades. This is where Kojo is making a difference.

Role Overview

Kojo is seeking driven Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to join their expanding sales team. The role is fully remote within Canada and involves initiating contact with potential clients to guide them into the sales pipeline. Working under the Manager of Sales Development, SDRs play a pivotal role in building relationships that further Kojo’s mission of making construction more efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting outbound calls to potential customers to understand their challenges and introduce Kojo’s solutions
  • Scheduling quality meetings for Account Executives with interested prospects
  • Consistently meeting or surpassing monthly targets for meetings and sales-accepted opportunities
  • Adhering to sales processes and maintaining accurate funnel and prospect data
  • Representing Kojo’s brand positively in all interactions

Candidate Profile

An ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possesses strong communication skills tailored to the construction sector. A hustler mentality eager to grow in sales, combined with excellent time management and resource allocation to achieve quotas, is essential.

  • Prior experience making over 75 cold calls daily in a BDR or SDR capacity
  • Proficient phone engagement and rapport building abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong integrity and sense of accountability
  • A growth mindset, open to feedback for continuous improvement
  • Persistence and resilience, with a positive attitude towards rejection
  • Passion for problem-solving within subcontractor and construction contexts

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year full-time experience as a SaaS SDR or similar sales role
  • Background in the construction industry
  • Entrepreneurial experience

Compensation and Benefits

This Canadian-based remote position offers an on-target variable compensation between CA$70,000 and CA$80,000, reflecting your experience and performance. Salary depends on various factors including skill level, market conditions, and internal equity. The role includes eligibility for new hire equity awards, and US-based employees can access a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Environment

Kojo’s team operates fully remotely across the Americas, aligning work hours with local business times. Travel and location-specific requirements will be communicated if relevant.

Diversity and Inclusion

Kojo is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace free from discrimination based on race, gender, orientation, disability, or other statuses. The company welcomes applications from underrepresented groups and complies with fair chance employment laws.

Important Notice

Be vigilant against scams posing as Kojo recruitment. Kojo never asks for sensitive information such as bank or credit details during hiring.
