Work Schedule and Department
This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, within the Fabrication Department.
Job Summary
The Rug Cutter is responsible for meticulously examining each work order to identify the exact shape and size needed for cutting the rug. The employee must ensure the rug's pattern or design is properly centered, with the central design element perfectly balanced. This requires basic arithmetic skills and proficiency in using a tape measure to mark the rug accurately before cutting.
Prior to cutting, the rug cutter must double-check all measurements to confirm accuracy. Top-tier quality is paramount; precise measurements and cuts are essential because any miscut results in unusable carpet and loss of profit for that rug.
Equipment and Safety
The role involves safely and correctly operating equipment such as calculators, tape measures, lasers, and knives.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. Computer literacy is necessary, including familiarity with the AS400 system, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Additionally, the candidate should possess leadership qualities and be able to lead by example.
